Story
The author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to find that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire.. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot will make vampires scary again. He wants to get away from the sexier, more romantic undead that have flooded pop culture for the better part of the past quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries..

I believe this movie could have used another 30-40 minutes to make the point.
I could see him becoming Barlow’s servant
To many busy scenes to get to the next one. More backstory could have happened with the caretaker who was a waste as opposed to the original which was much better and much creepier. The background of Barlow the master himself how he became what he is.

Offering something different or adding something to it that the original or the remake didn’t have, that sets it apart, not saying it would be better than the original, but it holds up as a very worthy remake. I still enjoyed it, but just something for people who want to do remakes to think about.. The final season of "What we do in the shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
